review taken from "Justin's U2 CD-R Trading Page", run by Justin Cook:
I received this recording from Scott Zumsteg, webmaster of the the "U2 Joshua Tree Tour Preservation Project". Below is a description of the bootleg taken from his website: I did this CD from a 2nd gen tape from a guy in Canada. I picked it up a couple of years ago. Again it suffers from low mic the first three or four songs, but is pretty much maximized by 'MLK'. Nice clean high end on this one after that point and decent bass response. Great 'Maggie's Farm' as they were getting ready to do it in front of Dylan at the next gig. Infinite guitar sounds weak during 'With Or Without You', very little echo, may have just been the way it was set in LA because it actually never sounded that good at any of the LA gigs.
The clarity of this bootleg is fantastic, due largely to the low generation of the analog recording from which it was converted to CDR. Crowd noise is noticeable at times, but even it sounds clear! There is a second or so of dead air during the intro to "Running To Stand Still" during which you can hear someone fumbling with the recorder. Also there are a few noticeable edits, such as between "In God's Country" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Maggie's Farm" and "Bad". However, very little, if any, music is lost.
