© "FLOM - A Guide To U2 Bootleg CDs" / Sascha Kremer:
[ Adrian Elmer ] : It's nice to have a soundboard recording of the final night of the PopMart Tour, after so many audience bootlegs from the tour. This concert is perhaps not quite as emotional as I was expecting from a concert that is the last of a 2 year tour, in a country that has meant so much to U2's politics in the past, and in which they are playing for the first time, but is still a great performance and memorable concert. The sound is clear well mixed and the audience is not overpowering (as is the case with some Sao Paolo soundboard recordings from PopMart). The set list is fairly standard for the PopMart Tour, though does include 'All I Want Is You' and '"40"', two tracks added late in the tour. The version of '"40"' features only electric guitar from Edge and vocal from Bono. Overall, Bono in particular sounds tired, but uses the melancholia to good effect at times. If you're after only one PopMart bootleg, this is probably not the one, but it rates fairly highly. Gatefold packaging. Picture CDs. CD is a limited pressing of 500.
